Today, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission approved SHALOM WORLD’s application to be added to the List of non-Canadian programming services and stations authorized for distribution through Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2018-140 (https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2018/2018-140.htm).
This decision allows for SHALOM WORLD television channel to be carried on cable networks in Canada, potentially reaching 12.73 million Catholic Canadians. Over the past four years, SHALOM WORLD has increasingly featured programs from Canadian Catholics including Patrick Sullivan, Chris Bray, and Father Lucien Larre, among others, as well as from Canada-based organizations, such as Serviam Ministries.
“This is an important decision for SHALOM WORLD,” said Santo Thomas, Chief Executive Officer, “As a ministry, we have been praying for the opportunity to make our programs available to the Canadian public, as well as highlight even more of the stories and experiences of the faithful in Canada. We are truly grateful for the decision which the CRTC made today.”
A 24/7 high-definition channel, SHALOM WORLD–which celebrated its fourth year anniversary on April 27th–features a wide variety of television programs for the whole family (www.shalomworld.org/programs) as well as programs from worldwide Catholic ministries and media houses.
