Most Reverend Bishop Flores is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He has been the Bishop of Brownsville since December 2009. He had previously served as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Detroit, Michigan. Bishop Flores was the first Latino bishop to have served the Archdiocese of Detroit and, at the time of his episcopal appointment, was the youngest Catholic bishop in the United States. He speaks English, Spanish, Italian, and Latin. Bishop Flores is one of the Patrons of Shalom and the international headquarters in Edinburg, Texas, is in the territorial jurisdiction of the Diocese of Brownsville.
